DR Pax:

Gypsy planted the seed to make a workout around the song, “Invincible” by Tool. The song, I felt, really spoke to our group. Aging warriors, once Invincible, and battling to stay consequential.

Went ahead and did another 5 songs and birthed this beatdown.

The Thang:
“War of the Currents” – Gramatik
Speaking to the state of our reality. Constant war and wading through the currents of distress.
Arm swings with butt kickers (slow then fast), jump lunges, good mornings, good speedballs, chicken peckers

“Vicarious” – Tool
We thrive on the tragedy of others. Also, we sit idle while others live the life we wish for ourselves.
High plank/low plank, plank jacks, prisoner squats, McFlys, merkin salutes, McFlys, HP/LP, mountain climbers, squats

“Parabola” – Tool
We are only here and relevant for an instant in time.
“This body holding me reminds me of my mortality. Embrace this moment. Remember we are eternal. Pain is an illusion.”
Hindu push-ups, Hindu squats, Superman swimmers, Hindu push-ups, squat punches, Superman swimmers, Hindu squats, Superman swimmers

“Forty Six and 2” – Tool
This song is about evolving into our next form. References our chromosomal make up.
“See my shadow changing. Stretching up and over me. Soften this old armor. Hoping I can clear the way by stepping through my shadow. Coming out the other side. Step into the shadow. Forty six and two are just ahead of me.”
Table-Top Hover Taps, hillbilly squats, TTHT, imperial squats, TTHT, side to curtsy lunges, merkins

“Invincible” – Tool
“Beating tired bones. Tripping through remember when once invincible. Now the armor’s wearing thin. Heavy shield down. Warrior. Strugglin’. To remain relevant. Warrior. Strugglin’. To remain. Consequential.”
Low side lunge flow, Warrior 2 flow, prayer Squat flow, W2F, X-Men, W2F, boat to canoe, scissor kicks, heels to heaven, flutter kicks, viking twists, ass wipes, burpees w/o merkin, lunge knee strikes

“Lateralus” – Tool
Based on the “Golden Ratio” aka Fibonacci sequence. The very fabric of the universe. This song speaks to separating your body from your mind. Reaching our full potential and embracing the random. To ride the spiral and keep going.
“Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind
Feed my will to feel this moment
Urging me to cross the line
Reaching out to embrace the random
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come
I embrace my desire to
I embrace my desire to
Feel the rhythm, to feel connected
Enough to step aside and weep like a widow
To feel inspired
To fathom the power
To witness the beauty
To bathe in the fountain
To swing on the spiral
To swing on the spiral to
Swing on the spiral
Of our divinity
And still be a human
With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
Between the sounds and open wide to suck it in
I feel it move across my skin
I’m reaching up and reaching out
I’m reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me
What ever will bewilder me
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one’s been
We’ll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one’s been
Spiral out, keep going”

Sat and meditated while working on our breathwork. Breath of fire and kundalini sequences.
