Intro:
Happy Fat Tuesday!!! Clock at Q, gave the disclaimer, and wished everyone a Happy Fat Tuesday. Going to do a lot of steps today. Let’s get those calories burning. Start with a long mosey out to the street and around the park to the light pole. All circle up:

In honor of Lent having 40 days –
40x SSH
40x Imperial Walkers
10x Little Arm Circles Forward, 10x Little Arm Circles Backward, 10x Cherry Pickers, 10x Shoulder Press = 40x!!
40x New Orleans Frogs ….. This one almost killed YHC but I made it through. I did take note of several of our more esteemed members getting hurt by this one too!! 🙂

The Thang:
BLIMPs came to mind this morning, and then I thought, well it’s Fat Tuesday, and so we need to do things a little different. Holy Trinity in Cajun cooking is bell pepper, celery, and onion. A lot of people add the Pope, which is garlic. In terms of exercises, the Holy Trinity would seem to be the push-up, sit-up, and squat. But this is F3, let’s go! Merkins, WWIIs, Squats, and add Burpees in as the Pope.

Team up:
Partner one starts Merkins while partner two runs to the light pole and back. They switch when partner two returns. They keep going until cumulatively they get to 40x merkins; then keep going with WWIIs, then squats, and finish with the Pope aka Burpees!

PAX was feeling real good after this set. Fat Tuesday workout is all about burning calories and we were getting our steps in for sure.

Keep the team:
YHC originally named this next routine camp town races. Wanted to give it some New Orleans flavor, and so Mr. Rogers came in huge with “Doo Da’s”. Which, for ever more, this will be called doo da’s. Thank you Mr. Rogers!

Partner one squirrel craws (looks like a bear craw, but it’s not, definitely a squirrel) to the light pole. Partner two runs to the light pole, then ALL the way back to the first (past their partner, then all the way back out to the partner. Once reached, they trade and partner two continues the squirrel while partner one runs. Once at the pole SSHx until PAX complete. Returned to the other pole via same method but with crab walks (crab is great in gumbo!!). And then back again for the final run with the New Orleans frog hop. I’m going to have nightmares of those!

COT:
For Mary, we had to keep the cardio going, and continue the theme of 40x. We did 20x Freddie Mercury’s forward peddle, then revered the peddle for 20x more = 40x total!

COT:
Talked about Lent and that it’s not just about giving up chocolate. It’s a time of penance and deep self reflection on how you can be better (AKA an F3 High Impact Man). Take time at the end of the day to review how you did that day. What was pleasing to God, what was not. Take it all to prayer and ask to see another day. Pray that you’ll be the HIM you want to be!

Prayer Intentions: Ryan’s health and healing. Cousin Elizabeth dealing with addiction. For comfort to the families of the Blackhawk pilots that crashed (Moist Budda is friends with the family), and for communication in our marriages. I also want to add intentions for my Uncle Craig. He didn’t get mentioned in the group, but he’s close to my heart this week. He’s struggling badly with cancer and needs our prayers.

SYITG!!!
