The Thang:
All met in the west parking lot of Papago Park. 0.8 mile trek to the Papago Amphitheater. Everyone had a ruck on. Carried two shovel flags and was quite beautiful in the morning light. We counted off the steps at the Amphitheater. 46 total, 92 up-and-down, and we did 23 laps. So, we did more than the target of 1,980 steps that made up the World Trade Center. When we finished up, we jogged it back to the parking lot and most of us planked it up for a bit while we waited for Focker, Zanjero, and their crew. Apparently those guys forgot maps! 🙂 I will say the jog, with the ruck, was tough. We all had a good sweat going when we hit the parking lot!
COT:
Thankful for the breadth that God gives each and every one of us each day. Especially thankful for those first responders who keep us safe each and every day. We prayed for them, and we prayed for the families, and friends, who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. We want to show our support by making a financial contribution to the 9/11 Tower Challenge Foundation. The organization has donated approximately $300,000 to charities serving law enforcement, first responders, military personnel and their families.
