Intro:
Zanjero strolled in right at the buzzer WITH an FNG. Not bad for the second time out since posting last Friday! Plus, as FNG Chad (now Geronimo) strolled up the guy was built like a brick $@#& house and so a perfect addition to the group. C(L)ock gave the traditional disclaimer, none is really needed, no one assumes he’s a professional, and off we went on about a half mile mosey. The park is a little deceiving, a half loop around is a long ways, and so the PAX was warm by the time we got back. Circled up to begin warmarama. 15x SSH, All move to holding arms up and don’t come down until the word “recover”, 15x arm circles forward, 15x backward, 15x big forward, 15x big backward, 15x iron cross, 15x cherry pickers, and 15x overhead arm claps. “RECOVER!” Odin we missed you! We finished the warm up off with some motivators starting at 10 and counting down to 1! Man we looked in snych!!
The Thang:
How can we be at an AO named Royale and not partake in some games of chance. Deck of Death it is and we proceeded with the main beat down. Hearts = Burpees, Diamonds = Merkins, Clubs = WWIIs, and Spades = Squat Jumps. Number on the card corresponds to the exercise and Aces = Run to the bench and back. I’m not sure how far that bench was but it was a long ways. Let’s say it was a full PW for me and so I’ll call it 120 therefore 240 yards there and back. We pulled a lot of clubs to start and so really worked those abs. We also pulled all Aces the last two of which came back-to-back. Lots of mumble chatter from the Pax when that happened. Now that I think of that run, it might have been a 9-iron! 🙂 We almost made it through the deck and toward the end hit a lot of hearts (i.e. burpees). As the name suggests, C(L)ock kept us right on time and we ended sharply at 6:15am PST.
COT:
Beautiful day, 70’s temp, park was great, great group, and we are so lucky to live in the state we lived. We had two OUTSTANDING FNGs today and I hope they’ll both come back. Holly Roller hasn’t gotten a shout out yet but he’s cut for the F3 world he just doesn’t know it yet. He lives down the street, he lives / breaths male leadership, and he needs to make sure he’s healthy for his four kids! We got his heart pumping nicely and so hope to see him next Tuesday! We circled up (with distance) for the prayer, and all took off about 6:30am. We need to find a coffee place as there has to be some place near. Great neighborhood for coffee shops!
