We Mosey back in time and learn about Alfred Bernhard Nobel who happens to be the inventor of Dynamite!

For this day in history, 12-10-1901, we did 12 burpees, 10 “explosive” merkins, 19 “explosive” squats, and 01 “explosive” lunge.

We then mosey to the year of Nobel’s birth in 1833, to do 18 “explosive” squats, and 33 “explosive” lunges.

Mosey forward now to 1863, when he invented a way to control the detonation of nitroglycerin. That means, 18 “explosive” squats, and 63 “explosive” lunges.

1864 Nobel’s nitroglycerin factory blew up, killing his younger brother. 18 “explosive” squats, and 64 “explosive” lunges.

After losing his brother the quest was on to discover a safer explosive. For that we mosey to 1867 when he discovered the makings of DYNAMITE. 18 “explosive” squats, and 67 “explosive” lunges.

The portion of his will establishing the Nobel Peace Prize read, “[one award shall be given] to the person who has done the most or best work for fraternity among nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies, and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.” Some say his regrets from the later uses of his discoveries led him to this conclusion.

Exactly five years after Nobel’s death, and on this very day back in 1901 the first Nobel awards were presented.
